Building a mobile app and website for a Real Estate mapping

The Project

BrokerMap is a mobile application that enables users to create real estate maps. The application allows users to add properties, create maps, and add notes to properties and brand accounts. Furthermore, it enables them to share their maps with others.

Challenges to Mobile application

In 2016, a real estate broker from the USA came to us with a project idea that was supposed to make the broker’s work easier. The idea was to create two similar projects for the US (Broker Map) and Australian (Agent Map) markets. The project was to include website and mobile applications for iOS and Android. It should allow brokers to create portfolios of the properties for sale, add properties’ photos and data to a customized map, and share mapped routes with the client.

BrokerMap didn’t have an internal technology team, so Digicode was chosen as a technical partner to develop all three products due to its deep understanding of the Real Estate industry and considerable experience in iOS and Android app development.

Implementation

The development of BrokerMap required a niche-down experienced team with a relevant real estate background. We created a team of developers and designers who have worked on similar projects, ensuring the result will be above the industry’s standards.

We decided to start with wireframes to allow the client to add changes before the development, saving both money and time. Based on it, Digicode’s design team created a simple, sleek user experience that eliminated distraction and focused users on their highest-value activities for their customers’ specific needs across desktop and mobile devices.

More interfaces

We used 13 technology products and services for BrokerMap, including HTML5, jQuery, Google Analytics, Viewport Meta, IPhone / Mobile Compatible, and SPF.

To provide broker and client access to the property maps, we have integrated with the most significant property database in the USA https://www.geodataplus.com/. The integration was implemented to allow Broker Map users to contribute to property databases so that other brokers who use the geodatplus service could use this information for their business.

Outcomes

The customer received fully-functional and cost-effective web service and mobile applications in 6 months. After the apps were published on App Store and Google Play, they were warmly welcomed by many real estate brokers and companies in the USA and Australia, so they are still used successfully today.
